CAPTAIN CAPA – SAVED MY LIFE

“What the fuck” still seems to be the best phrase to wrap up everything that happened to us in 2011. Everything from recording an album, signing an invisible contract with Audiolith Records, playing shows with some of the greatest bands we know, making an awesome video to winning a wonderful award and everything in between has just been one slap in the face after another. Not one of the bad slaps, but one of the “wake up, dreamer, damnit!” kind. To our surprise – the whole year has been pretty real and nothing was dreamt. Not our first glimpses of smiling into TV-cameras and not our first flight to Moscow. Not the thousand faces in front of and behind the stage we fell in love with and not the fistfull of good friends we made, while being able to do what we love.

With a concert in our very own smalltown Bad Frankenhausen we tried to blow up the year with a never-before-seen Christmasparty. We’re deeply sorry that the technical difficulties of the club itself turned a well planned and energetic concert to a battlefield of frustration. The club exists since 17 years and never before has it seen such a stampede of awfully awesome people trying to get in. 211 people were able to get in and watch the show, most of them family members, old friends, new friends, friends from far away, friends from the neighbourhood. We really wanted to give these guys a hell of a show, like saying “Ha, we went to school together – this is what we do now, and we love it. Yeah, keep dancing, don’t fight it.” Not to mention our level of frustration when the P.A. of the club started to turn its back on us. The sound was horrible at first, unbearable next and non-existent at last. We kept fighting, the crowd kept dancing, and we all had a bit of a party anyways. We’re still sad, and we will make up for it somehow, sometime. Thanks to TIMESCRATCH, who gave one hell of a show right before us and FUZZ GALAXY BUZZ and PERCY JONES for dj’ing the shit out of the broken PA in an ecstatic aftershow.

A little new years gift could be our free-to-download christmas-song “Christmas Wishlist”, feel free to share and load and hug and kiss.

For now, we’re looking forward to our first dates of 2012 – which includes six gigs in january you can check out in our LIVE panel over there. Also, there are some very big announcements we can’t tell you, yet, but we’re excited TO THE MAX. Shmowzow, one could say.

A few weeks ago we released our tiny little download-single for RIVALS, including a nice remix, an all new bonus track and a karaoke-singalong-version. A lot has happened since then. For example: THE VIDEO we shot was released afterwards. To celebrate the fantastic tale of good, evil and beyond in flashy videoclip-lights, we decided to release the single… AGAIN. This time wrapped in christmas-paper and filled with a lot of glossy bonus-stuff. Check this out!

Our travels with metalcore-beauties We Butter The Bread With Butter came out way better than we thought, the crowds of Stuttgart and Karlsruhe seemed to like us pretty much, so another big AAAAWWWW YEAH goes out to We Butter, their fans, Haribo macht Kinder Froh and We Butters booking agency of Kiki.

Truth is, the train is rolling and we can’t stop it from here. So why not travelling any further and just call it a tour again!? HERE WE GO!

PHEW. A few weeks ago we had one of the biggest nights of our tiny human beings, winning the New Music Award 2011. A jury of sweet people straight out of the BIZ decided that we’ve been somewhat amusing, entertaining and that we’re absolutely 2011 so they rewarded us with a 120kg trophy and 10.000€ for shiny new equipment. We can’t throw out enough THANK YOUs for all the people who’ve been there or who have been supporting us all the way. We wrote a blog-entry in German about it – go read it now. If you’re not into the German language, you can try to read it out loud und have fun making weird noises. “CHHRRR CHRRR SSSAUERRKRRAUT KKKKRRRRTZ.”

The award brought lots of good news, plans and airplay in our arms wide open and we’re excited as hell to embrace the future of the captains. AYE. One of those good news is the following: we’ll be playing two shows with hardcore-rave-emo-boys WE BUTTER THE BREAD WITH BUTTER in Stuttgart and Karlsruhe. We have absolutely no idea what We Butter fans might think about catchy electro-pop-tunes but we can’t wait to find out.

YESSS!! Also – we’ll combine all our crazy OCT / NOV / DEC gigs to a sneaky, little Saved My Life II tour. Stay tuned, all the love.

Good Rebecca Black – always the right words, bless you. But ARE we excited, ladies and gentleman. We’ve done a lot of awesome stuff in the last weeks – shooting a fancy video, playing our biggest crowd yet in Vienna, waking up with the biggest hangover since Hangover on the most beautiful lake ever AND so on. But still, one of the most exciting days of Captain Capa has yet to come. On tuesday, exactly. Watch this:

This is us being in the finale of the New Music Award held by german youth-radio stations, competing against EIGHT promising newcomer-acts. Although we’ve been touring a lot and enjoy every second performing on a stage, we’re a little feverish about this one. Playing a mini-set of three songs trying to convince a jury of four that you are THE SHIT! I mean, THE shit!! Yeah!! We’ll be giving away some tickets on the weekend, so stay tuned if you want to join the party. Basically, we NEED you to join in on the fun because we’ll need some of you to scream our names out when we’re playing the unforgiving, golden Admiralspalast ON TUESDAY.

Wow, we’re a bunch of lazy fucks. It has been a bit quiet around here since we’ve dragged our asses to Russia, so let’s start with a little noise:

Anyways, we’ve been to a few radio-shows, interviews and magazines – the Fritz Blue Moon show being one of the funniest things we’ve done so far – and gained SUPERFAMOUS in weeks. Kidding. Not kidding:

We’re nominated for the New Music Award 2011 and super excited about it. We’ll be playing a small show in Berlin, Admiralspalast, proving ourselves in a bandcontest worth 10.000 € of shiny new equipment. We’ll need all the support we can get, we’ll keep you updated. Around here and on Facebook, of course.

As you can see – we’ve been to Moscow and back and it was an amazing trip. We’ll show some more pictures and tell some stories later, right now we really need your help. We’re shooting a video to our second single in a few weeks and we still need TWO YOUNG BOYS and ONE GRRRL to act in it. Read about the whole deal right here. … was the title of a long gone german VIVA ZWEI band. Wasn’t it? Our tour is doing very well so far, Ilmenau was crazy, Erfurt was heart-warming and simply stunning (see the whole show on video right here) – even Halle was pretty amazing with a lot of glowstick-kids messin up the place. Thank you veeery much for all the fun. So what’s next? BERLIN of course. We’re playing ABOUT:BLANK on friday with a lot of friends around.
